Meet Our Doctors

Gena Schultheis, DDS

Dr. Gena Schultheis is a highly knowledgeable and experienced general, cosmetic and implant dentist. She uses a natural, holistic approach in all her treatments, including using non-toxic, biocompatible materials and natural remedies for effective natural healing and pain prevention. She stays up to date with the latest advances in dentistry so she can provide the most effective, minimally invasive care.

Dr. Schultheis is a member of several dental associations, including the American Dental Association® and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She is a board member of the Holistic Dental Association and a member of the Eco Dentistry Association. She is also active in several other holistic dental associations.

Dr. Schultheis started her dental career in the United States Air Force, where she rose to the rank of captain and received the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service.

In addition to her general dentist degree, Dr. Schultheis holds certificates in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontic treatment, laser dentistry for minimally invasive treatment, and SMART certification for clean and safer removal of mercury amalgam. She is a certified provider for ClearCorrect teeth straightening using clear aligners, Six Month Smiles®, Snap-On Smile® and Lumineers® ultra-thin porcelain veneers.

Education
After completing her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University in 2000, Dr. Schultheis earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 2005. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, a one-year dental residency program consisting of hands-on experience and additional postgraduate training in advanced dental care.

Community Service and Involvement
Dr. Schultheis volunteers her time at the local health department and through the Free Day of Dentistry program. She is active in environmental preservation events such as Earth Day, and she participates in activities with the Chesapeake Beach Oyster Cultivation Society.

In addition, she and her staff provide training to the medical community on the relationship between oral health and the health of the rest of the body.

Outside the Office
Dr. Schultheis enjoys yoga, hiking, running and being outdoors. She loves spending time with her husband and three children, especially going skiing with them. She also enjoys listening to music, dancing, reading and cooking.

Sadaf Nasir, DDS

Dr. Nasir earned her dental degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 2012. As part of her studies, she did research in the field of oral surgery, and she has published research in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is a good communicator and values building long-lasting relationships with her patients as they continue to come to the practice for dental maintenance care.

Dr. Nasir is a member of the American Dental Association®, the Maryland Dental Association, the Anne Arundel County Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry

Emily Halle, DMD

Dr. Emily Halle strives for excellence in all her dental care. She enjoys getting to know her patients, and she provides the quality of treatment that she would want in her own mouth.

Originally from western Pennsylvania, Dr. Halle attended Washington and Jefferson College before receiving her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Halle then had the honor of serving veterans during a residency at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, where she furthered her education in all aspects of general dentistry.

As a lifelong learner, Dr. Halle places great value on continuing education and regularly attends new courses and seminars. She has completed extensive orthodontic training through Progressive Orthodontic Seminars and is a member of both the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry) and the IAO (International Association of Orthodontics).

Outside the office, she enjoys being mom to her three boys, hiking and salsa dancing with her husband, and finding new recipes to cook.

Adam Taxin, DDS

Dr. Adam Taxin is a dedicated general dentist and strives to give his patients the best care possible. He treats all patients like they are his family, paying attention to detail and doing the best work possible. His goal is to educate patients on the importance of oral health.

Dr. Taxin is originally from Westchester, New York. He attended the University at Buffalo for his undergraduate and master’s degrees and then attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry for his doctorate. To continue his education, he went to the Baltimore VA Hospital to complete his general practice residency.

Dr Taxin is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association®, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He has taken extensive training on dental sleep medicine and is working toward becoming board certified in dental sleep medicine.

Outside the office, he loves to hang out with his wife and son. He loves to travel and find travel deals. He enjoys talking about all sports, especially the New York Jets, and if you have a fantasy football question, he can help! He also enjoys cooking, scuba diving and trying new things.

Charity VanderWall-Lacey, DMD

Dr. Charity is a general dentist who truly cares. She prioritizes her patients' overall well-being while striving to provide the highest quality dentistry for each individual.

She earned her DMD from University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2016, where she received awards and recognitions in community outreach, community dentistry and public health.

As the spouse of an Active Duty Navy Physician, Dr. Charity has practiced in District of Columbia, North Carolina, and Maryland. Together, they have two young children, a boy and a girl. All 4 of them love the Annapolis area, and plan to make it their forever home.

A strong believer in continuing education, she is dedicated to continuous learning. She often spends the few "free" hours she has studying on-demand seminars and courses. Dr. Charity has been a faithful member of the American Dental Association since dental school. She is also a member of the American Academy of General Dentistry and is working on her coursework to become a Breathe Institute Affiliate.  

Dr. Charity is passionate about working with patients from all backgrounds to achieve their individual oral  and systemic health goals.

Dr. Kevin Ross

Dr. Kevin Ross is a highly-trained and experienced general, microsurgical, and implant dentist. He is passionate about oral-systemic health and takes a biological approach in all his treatments, utilizing biocompatible materials to promote effective healing and pain prevention. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Ross stays current with the latest advances in dental technologies and techniques, enabling him to provide the most effective and minimally invasive care for his patients.

Dr. Ross is a member of several dental associations, including the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association. He also holds certificates in microsurgical and implant dentistry.

Education

Dr. Ross completed his undergraduate studies in Neurobiology and Physiology with honors, at the University of Maryland College Park. He went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, where he proudly served as chief orthodontic clerk during his fourth year. He was an active member of the President’s Student Leadership Institute and inductee of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society, for distinguished students who received high marks in the practice of operative, fixed, and removable dentistry. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at York Hospital in Pennsylvania, receiving advanced surgical training in implants and endodontics. Dr. Ross is intimately familiar with managing dental traumas and infectious emergencies, having served as an active member of the hospital's multidisciplinary healthcare team, rounding with internal and emergency medicine on his patients.

Community Service and Involvement

Dr. Ross volunteers his time with several non-profit organizations such as Maryland’s Mission of Mercy and Smiles for Life, an international health outreach program. He has volunteered his time both domestically and internationally, treating underserved patient populations. He also has the great pleasure of giving back to our veterans through Give Veterans a Smile Day.

Outside the Office

Dr. Ross enjoys staying active, hiking the great outdoors, and golfing. He is a landscape photography enthusiast, determined to photograph every U.S. National Park - his favorite has been Glacier National Park in Montana. His favorite season is fall, and his favorite meal of the day is breakfast with coffee.

Dr. Catie Donovan

Dr. Catie Donovan is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Catie has worked in the dental field since high school in various roles in the dental office, which inspired her to attend dental school. In her ongoing pursuit of learning about the dental field and how to best treat her patients, Catie places great value in attending continuing education seminars regularly. Her philosophy is to treat patients the way she would want her own dental health to be taken care of.  

Outside of dentistry, Catie enjoys exploring national parks with her husband and family, traveling, drawing and painting, reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her family and friends.
